I was/am in love with the veteran population and the staff. It was a no-brainer when they asked me if I was interested in applying for the full-time PT position. The biggest surprise benefit was the Education Debt Reduction Program. They are helping me pay off my loan over 5 years. It is an honor to serve my country's serviceman and I am very fortunate to be

I'm back & employed!

Happy New Year!

OK I fell off the wagon and stopped blogging. Its always on my things to do list. Since I started my new job, this has fallen on the back burner. But holidays are over. I'm getting used to my job. My family and friends have been super supportive with my absence. And I read this entry from a blog I follow called Adulting - Central Adulting Theme: Harden the f!@# up!

Kelly writes:
It’s OK to take a minute and feel completely overwhelmed and maybe even go cry in the office  [clinic] bathroom a little bit. You don’t have to feel guilty for having these very reasonable emotions.
But then you need to splash cold water on your face, and go get shit done.

I'm going to put my big girl pants on and get on with it. I'll write more in the new year about my new experiences. Thanks for reading.

Great Peds PT website

Do you remember that moment when you found the most amazing website? You have been scouring the net for hours, days, weeks to piece together information about a population? geriatrics? pts who suffered a stroke? COPD? CP? pediatricsssssss... and then you come upon that gold mine of a website that just about covered it all.

I found this blog, Beyond Basic Play.
- She describes and organizes milestones so wonderfully.
- Gives great ideas and specific ideas on tummy time, increasing neck/head control, progressing walking, etc. Books seems to give you general ideas on how to accomplish milestones. She describes her tips and tricks on how she accomplished these tasks in a easy to read and follow format with lots of pictures!
- Recommends toys and describes how to use for PT interventions.

Natalie from Beyond Basic Play read my mind. Thank you for awesomeness!
